Dr. Pınar Ünal-Aydın is a psychiatrist and associate professor of psychology with extensive clinical, academic, and research experience across Türkiye and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Currently serving at the International University of Sarajevo, she specializes in digital mental health, metacognition, social cognition, and behavioral addictions, including internet gaming and social media use. Her academic contributions span over 40 peer-reviewed publications, multiple international book chapters, and participation in multidisciplinary research projects addressing adolescent mental health and emerging digital phenomena.

With a solid background in psychotherapy—holding advanced training in CBT, ACT, schema therapy, and EMDR—Dr. Ünal-Aydın integrates clinical practice with innovative research, particularly focusing on virtual reality-assisted interventions. As the manager of the university’s VR Laboratory and a key mentor for graduate theses, she continues to bridge clinical insight with academic rigor. Her leadership in teaching, research supervision, and international collaborations underscores her commitment to advancing contemporary psychological science and mental health practice.
